Failed idmap setup

Hi there :slight_smile:

I installed Incus through the Arch repositories.

I can use incus admin to set it up, and then download an image via incus launch. But once downloaded, it shows this:

Failed instance creation: Failed creating instance record: Failed initializing instance: System doesn’t have a functional idmap setup

Is this an issue with the Arch package?

It sounds like you didn’t follow the Arch Linux instructions: Incus - ArchWiki

Those instructions have the required usermod + Incus restart needed to take care of that.

Sorry, I already had Incus running in the past, and did delete due to an accident my entire home directory. This might be related. Thanks
