FOSDEM 2018 Presentation - Introduction to LXD clustering Multi-node deployments with one big virtual LXD

This Introduction to LXD clustering Multi-node deployments with one big virtual LXD was a great video … BUT… I was really surprised at the beginning when the presenter did

$ lxd init

and the first question it asked was:

Would you like to use LXD Clustering? (yes/no) (Default=no):

I’ve never seen that appear when I’ve done any “lxd init” and am interested in how to get whatever version of LXD this was that he was using so I can try it.

As was mentioned in the talk, this is work which hasn’t been released or even been merged yet, so it’s normal that you’ve never seen this question.

The branch which was used for the demo is https://github.com/freeekanayaka/lxd/tree/clustering

Thanks Stephane…

Just wanted to say that watching this (still watching) I was REALLY impressed !

This is going to be a really great technology for LXD.

Is there anywhere that there is a proposed schedule for release of upcoming features like the LXD clustering and the p2c capabilities?

I know there is the release page but that documents things only after they’ve happened.

thanks
brian

Both will be in LXD 3.0 which is likely to be released in early March.
