IncusOS - Operation Center: Public NTP server unable to sync on startup

Hallo

Currently setting up a VM on an IncusOS host to run Operation Center. Everything works just fine except the time synchronization. If I configure a public NTP server using a FQND (time.nrc.ca) I am getting the following WARNING.

No issue if I use an internal IP as the NTP server.

Relevant configuration is as follow:

 dns:

There is no DNS request at all coming in on 853 for a DNS resolution.

The VM is able to communicate with outside since it downloads the images and such.

Anything I should look for ?

Did you try specifying the NTP server by IP address to see if it’s some issue with DNS availability at that stage of the boot?

Yes, same behavior.

It that matter, when the host up, changing network parameters invoke a network reload and throws the same error.

FWIW, network is statically configured (IPv4) with SLAAC for IPv6.
Therefore, routes (default) is created once ip address is assigned.

The ntp server time.nrc.ca seems to work fine in my Operation Center:

However, I am not using any custom DNS settings. The DNS is provided by DHCP from the Incus host on which Operation Center runs (as a virtual machine):

OK, I disabled DHCP and configured static IP. I added the basic dns section:

The ntp server still resolves fine:

Ok, my bad. There was a routing issue which I don’t fully understand since updates were working just fine.
Anyway, it is working !
