Just wanted to share that utilizing/eabling tcp_mtu_probing (RFC4821) may improve network perfomance
As a last resort, it may be possible to rely on an adjunct protocol, such as ICMP ECHO (“ping”), to send probe packets.
It would need to be enabled in both, the host and the container(s).
