Problem host hangs while rebooting or shutdown on incus

Hi all,

I have a problem when i reboot or shutdown my host. My system takes 30 minutes to do a shutdown or reboot. It stalls on incus-startup.service/stop running.

Lots of entrys with ufw block. after this is done incus wants to remount folders of containers and this timesout.

How can i troubleshoot this problem?

You can try incus shutdown on its own to simulate what’s called on shutdown.

That said, what you’re describing is pretty odd as the incus-startup systemd unit has a 10m timeout, so 30min is unexpected.

Hi,

Indeed. 10 minute timeout. After that the net work incus comes back again for 10 minutes timeout?

Ps the incus admin shutdown seems to be good and fast.
Wat could be the problem that the network stals with a real shutdown

Could be that something that your instances need to properly shut down is being killed off before incus-startup is asked to shut down.

How could i debug this?

You can probably look at the systemd journal to figure out what got stopped before Incus.

Hi @stgraber,

After days of troubleshooting… ir had nothing to do with incus. Apperently debian bookworm is not playing well when tpm is enabled in the bios. I disabled the tpm chip and debian is now powering off the pc as it should.

Thanks for your help. Have a nice day.
