When are new alpine releases available in LXD?

alpinelinux 3.12 has been released since May 29, but the corresponding LXD image is not available yet in images:

  1. How long does it take for an alpine release to become an LXD image? What is the procedure?

  2. How can I create an alpine 3.12 container from the alpine 3.12 mini root filesystem?

We review the list of distros and releases on a monthly basis.
It just so happens that this review happened this morning so the new Alpine release should be showing up later today.
