I think that could work. Although only for containers (same restriction on usage when stopped).
Meaning I could achieve this now somehow or it could be done with a change in lxc? In the latter case, should I create a Github issue?
Not sure what you mean by that. As mentioned, there doesn’t seem to be a restriction currently, you can run lxc file mount on either running or stopped containers.
Yes it would need to be a new feature.
VMs (not containers) don’t support file operations when not running.
