What happens if you disable AppArmor? I haven’t tested this recently as I’ve just resigned myself to using /etc/netplan, but it would be interesting to get this resolved.

Hello, I’m having a similar issue with an Ubuntu 18.04 armbian host (armv7), lxd 5 LTS and a debian container based on images:debian/bookworm.
No IPv4 on container’s eth0.
Workaround is running dhclient.
