Dist Upgrad of container

Hello everyone
I mainly use Debian, currently v12 for many servers. Now I want to replace a few Docker container with Linux containers and currently don’t know which OS I should use as a container. Debian on Baremetal can be wonderfully upgraded to the upcoming release. But things may be different in a container. Now I would also like to use Debian in the container, but having to do it configure again every 1 - 2 years if an upgrade doesn’t work wouldn’t be so nice. A RHEL clone, for example, would make more sense. What would be recommended??

Tnx…

Debian and Ubuntu containers dist-upgrade just fine in my experience.
I’ve actually dist-upgraded a dozen 20.04 containers to 22.04 yesterday.

That may not be true of all distros, but Debian and Ubuntu definitely handle it pretty well.
