Ext4 on ZFS volume with LXD

Hello,

I’m working with LXD and ZFS with ZFS volumes (lxc storage volume create) but I unfortunately use a software which can’t work on ZFS (SEEK_HOLE and SEEK_DATA IOCTLs are needed ; see here)

Can I format a ZFS volume with ext4 and use it with LXD?

Yes but you’ll have to do it outside of LXD, directly creating a zvol and then formatting it and mounting it somewhere. You can then either have LXD consume that by creating a dir type pool on it or just directly attach that to your container using a disk device.
