You can’t. At least not without a massive amount of effort.
A container is just a filesystem tree, it doesn’t have a bootloader, kernel, initrd or partition table, all of which are necessary for a VM.
You’d basically need to create a new blank disk image, partition it, manually install a bootloader in there, format a partition for your root filesystem, transfer the content of the container rootfs to that partition, then manually go into that and install kernel, initrd and bootloader configuration, …
