How to downgrade from stable to LTS

On the first host that i had switched to incus is using zabbly stable ppa, fumble on my part for not realizing there was lts which i use on the other machines.

What would be the safest way to switch to lts?

  1. Wait until next major lts in April and “somehow” freeze my current stable to not go over that Number?
  2. or export containers, wipe incus stable > install incus lts and import the containers?

You may also be able to incus move your instances and volumes to another machine running the LTS, then wipe and reinstall Incus on LTS and incus move things back.

But otherwise, yeah, those are your main two options for going from the monthly stable releases over to the LTS.

I get almost daily incus updates on stable on that machine which is probably more then a great thing showing how the incus development is moving forward!

Ah yeah, the package can get updated more frequently than monthly as we need to pick up various security updates for dependencies as well as cherry-pick important bugfixes ahead of the next release.
