In this tutorial we show how to recover or reconnect an Incus installation, if the Incus server package is somehow gone, or if we want to migrate the storage pool to another server. That is, the storage pool is intact and we want to attach it to a new Incus installation.
In a nutshell, we use the commands zfs import to import the ZFS pool on the new system (if needed). Then we use incus admin recover so that Incus will look for, and try to make sense of the storage pool. If the recovery is successful, then the old Incus installation is back online!
Note that if you want to perform such a recovery, perform a few dry runs with the tutorial in order to make sure you are confident with the process.
