Incus Project Coordination From Within

Hi Team,

I will be helping people create Incus projects in a hosted environment. Said another way, when someone subscribes, they will automatically get an Incus project. We will create an AI assisted project coordinator container inside the project, and I need that newly created container to act as a limited coordinator of the project.

Said another way, I need the project coordinator container to be able to fire up additional containers in the same project based on interactions with the assistant. I need your help thinking through this concept. Has it been done before? Is it a good idea? Is there a better way of accomplishing what I an describing.

What I like about this concept is that:

  • I can give people (that want to know incus) the full power/client to manage project containers from anywhere. There is no concern with this point. It is a tried and true use case.
  • For those that do not want the burden, they can simply interact with an assistant than can perform incus container tasks for them. I want that assistant to be hosted inside the same project for simplicity.

Thank you for your consideration!

I don’t really see a problem here. You can create that container within the project, then have its client certificate be restricted to the project in question so it can’t mess with any other project.
