Install media detected but

So I am very confused by what IncusOS is doing during install. I have a system that has a number of drives in it. All have been wiped using wipefs and all solid state drives have been cleared using blkdiscard.

However, when I try to boot the IncusOS usb installer, I get an install error
“System check error: install media detected, but the system is already installed: please remove USB/CDROM and reboot the system”.

When I reboot, nothing is present on any of the disks. I’ve booted into a separate linux installer image and checked that no partitions or drives are showing up under lsblk or blkid.

I’ve cleared secure boot keys and disabled and re-enabled tpm to no change in behavior.

Looking for some clarity as to why I am hitting this error.

So I resolved my own problem by updating the bios because it was a few versions behind. I do believe that the root cause was that the TPM was not being cleared and there was no way for me to clear it in the bios other than to disable it and re-enable it. After a couple reboots switching the bios settings off and on again, the system installed.
