Invisible mouse cursor in kde wayland?

The mouse is invisible in kde vms almost universally with wayland. Changing to xwindows solves the problems. Any way to make the native previewer in the web browser work with wayland?

Can you help troubleshoot this? Is this a specific issue with the Web app remote desktop or does it also happen on with the Remote Viewer. Also, what’s the exact image you are trying?

This happens in the in-browser incus webui. Its the one from canocial that you launch with incus webui. The particular distro was ubuntu 25.04 (any variant of vm with wayland seems to do this afaik). I never tried the ‘network’ based spice client.

I had wondered if anyone has solved this? Its with the web viewer inside the browser. I have similar problems with other ‘wayland’ things in other scenarios, and the ONLY fix is to switch to regular x.

I kind of found a solution accidentally: Don’t use the web console! Just use the incus console --type vga. I learned this by watching the video. Seems much nicer than the in window web one.

WebUI uses another project’s work to enable the view of the VM’s GUI.
I think it’s this one, https://www.spice-space.org/spice-html5.html
If you can try the latest version of this client on your VM, you can identify whether the problem has been fixed in upstream, or whether a bug report needs to be filed.
