Lxd clustering using OVN or bridged?

Hi,

I am planning to join lxd clustering and looking at making containers see each other. Is it necessary to setup OVN as best practice? As I can also see some videos that its possible using bridge_mode fan? Was wondering if I can get some advise based on your experience and share some reference please. Thank s in advance.

Okay so it seems one thing that might not work is DNS for fan. I guess the OVN is the way to go.

In fan mode DNS requests to the LXD managed DNS server are relayed between cluster members so cluster wide resolution of instance names does work.

Thanks @tomp . This is the video i’ve seen and if i understand it correctly DNS does work for instances on the same system but not for multi system (18:58 of the video). Or did i not understand it clearly?
