I started writing an article referencing the lxd-users list archive extensively (as well as linuxcontainers.org documentation) explaining the difference between LXC and LXD, but I got the error “New users can only put 2 links in a post”. Wonder how many posts I have to make before I can get past that.
It’s indeed a spam protection feature that’s part of discourse.
2 links seems a bit low though and I’ve now bumped it up to 5.
My understanding is that “new user” is defined as anyone with the trust level 0.
I’m not sure exactly how long it takes to go to trust level 1, it looks like you need to read 5-6 posts and spend about 10min active on the site before discourse automatically promotes you.
Good info; I guess it’ll be a rather extreme edge case (given those criteria) that someone would need to post more than 5 links in a post at trust level 0. And considering how easy it seems to get to trust level 1, I guess it’s OK even if someone wants to write/post an in-depth article, as they can just browse the site for a while and they’ll get it quickly.
