Problem e-mailing this forum

I tried to send a reply to a post on this forum via e-mail, and kept getting “message not delivered” responses from my e-mail provider (GMail), until I got this final one today:

 Message not delivered
There was a problem delivering your message to noreply@discuss.linuxcontainers.org. See the technical details below.

 The response was:

The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect. Learn more at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7720 [2602:fd23:8:1005:216:3eff:fedb:68f3 2602:fd23:8:1005:216:3eff:fedb:68f3: timed out]

I also got a link in there, to this page: Fix bounced or rejected emails - Gmail Help

I’ve asked @stgraber to confirm whether we would expect replies going to noreply@discuss.linuxcontainers.org to work.

No, noreply won’t accept replies. The e-mails you get from DIscourse have a Reply-To that’s set to a very long token based address which allows for posting as you in the specific topic.

I tried replying (via email) to this thread, to say “my bad & I understand”, not to the no-reply address, but to a long string address, and got this error this time:

 Delivery incomplete
There was a temporary problem delivering your message to 2917ed586324eb253ad6208a94ab7b0d@discuss.linuxcontainers.org. Gmail will retry for 143 more hours. You'll be notified if the delivery fails permanently.

 The response was:

Oh, there’s definitely something wrong with the Google anti-spam layer we’re using… Those IPv6 addresses are indirect. I’ll sort it out soon.

I’ve corrected the address on Google’s side, hopefully the next retry will make it through.

Let’s see… this is an e-mail message.

Test one last time…

Looks like it’s working fine
