Question on system organisation

(Please - - - hopefully this will not be considered a rude question - - - but . . . )

I tried LXD some time ago.
It was set up so that snapd controlled everything - - - especially system and software updates and updating. This was something that I was NOT able to figure out how to work around. As a result I dropped LXD (like a very very hot potato).

How is the software updating in Incus organized?

Or - - who controls the update schedule?

Incus is distributed by Linux distributions as traditional package.
