A basic question: is anyone using SR-IOV on consumer grade cards NVIDIA series 40x0 or 50x0?
Unless things changed significantly recently, NVIDIA only has usable SR-IOV support on datacenter cards and only use the feature internally as part of GRID.
Direct SR-IOV for GPUs, we’ve only really seen it on AMD datacenter cards and on some of the Intel embedded GPUs (not ARC).

In conjunction with what @stgraber said, the only workaround I know of, vgpu_unlock, was reported to only work up to the RTX 20 series, iirc anything past that was physically fused off on the GPU die.
Your best bet would be either Virtio-GPU GL or Virtio-GPU Venus, but iirc there was some issues with Nvidia GPUs with this method.
