Suggestion and support for Virtual Distributed Ethernet (VDE)

Hello everyone.

Is there a plan to support Virtual Distributed Ethernet (VDE)?
it create and manages an ethernet-compliant virtual network able to interconnect virtual
and real machines in a distributed fashion.

I am currently trying to connect a LXC instance to a VDE network, and the way that i found might work is to connect a tap interface of the instance to a VDE switch, but i am having difficulties creating and exposing the tap interface inside the instance to the host machine where the VDE network is running.

Do you have any suggestions or better solutions to implement this?

Using a p2p interface in LXD will get you a host side device that you can then bridge in whatever you want.
