Incus is natively packaged in Debian 12 (backports) and 13 (main archive).
There are also the Zabbly packages available if you want the monthly releases rather than LTS.
I’d recommend following the installation instructions in our documentation:
There are official Zabbly deb package repositories. Read the how to install incus section of the documentation. Under “Linux”, click the “Debian” tab.
Thank you very much for your support regarding the official packages. I think the tip about ZABBLY is great, thank you.
However, under DEBIAN forky (version: 14), the apt script on this page cannot find any packages, so I have currently disabled it. Under forky, I am currently also receiving the “daily” packages. Of course, it would be nice if I could get them via this page. If anyone knows how I can contact the operator of this homepage, I would be happy to do so.
I wish you all a happy new year in 2026 with lots of exciting projects…
Best regards

Trixie came out a few months ago and Forky is at least two years away. I recommend using Trixie for now. It works great with Incus and it will be easier for people to help you when you have questions.
Thank you very much for your reply and the information regarding DEBIAN trixie and/or forky. I am aware that there are differences here, and I myself am also involved in the consortium. I enjoy testing and developing (researching) for my LIFE, and I will/would like to continue doing so.
I am incredibly happy about the exchange, even with the challenge that I am a pioneer in some areas and am considered as such…
Warm regards and a happy new year 2026!
Another possible solution would be to compile Incus yourself on your Forky install.
Just follow the guide Install from Source you might need to tweak the packages a bit to have all the required developer packages installed.
Thank you very much for your reply, and sorry for my late response.
As far as I can see at the moment, both lxc and incus are available in the latest version under DEBIAN forky.
