IncusOS is starting... timed out

I created an incusos USB image. After install reboot and Starting incusos… timeouts. I do not get any command prompt, starts cycling through debug dump screens. I could take a picture of the dump screens if it would help but otherwise do not know how to capture the information. Booted into Ubuntu live and below is output of: ls -lh /sys/class/block/*/device/driver and lsmod

The computer is a Beelink Mini PC,12th Gen Intel Alder Lake-N100, 16GB DDR4 RAM 500GB PCIE SSD, S12 Pro Mini Computer, I added a second 2T ssd but trying to install on the 500gb nvme ssd

Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you check in the BIOS for any RAID mode type setting?
We’ve seen issues like this when this kind of setting is enabled.

I have and there are no RAID settings in the BIOS.

Can you show lspci -k and nvme list?

Okay, not seeing anything problematic there.

Could you try booting IncusOS again and this time wait for the 10min (or 15min, not sure) timeout?

Once the timeout hits, the screen will start alternating between various debug views which should help see what’s going on.

I really hope something in here helps. Thanks for all your amazing work, love Incus!

It looks like a failure to setup the encrypted storage through the TPM.
We’ve seen issues like that in rare situations where the TPM is in a bad state.

Could you reboot your machine, go in the BIOS and reset the TPM?
Most BIOS have an option to trigger a TPM clear or reset command.

That worked! I had already set the TPM in the reset mode several times before but I always immediately tried reinstalling after, I never just rebooted. FYI I looked at my TPM keys when Incusos was failing to start and there were 4 Incus keys there and now with it working there are 4 keys there, I have looked at the keys and everything looks the same as when it wouldn’t start, which is a bit confusing. Is there anything I can do to help? If any logs or other info might help fix whatever happened for future installs just let me know. Thank you for your help, the work you do is amazing!

The keys would be Secure Boot and therefore unrelated to TPM.

The content of the TPM isn’t shown in the BIOS, the only thing that’s typically available is some control on the supported hashes, on what gets measured in early boot and then the option to clear its content.
