Lxc live snapshot

Hi all,
After some searching around I found some info that there is no official support for live snapshots in lxc.
Is this correct and are there any plans to implement this in future releases?
I really like the “raw” and “simple” implementation of lxc.

If live snapshots are a showstopper is the recommended way to go to lxd?
In case of lxd I will use debian as the host OS, so the option today is Flatpak,
are there any obvious problems with this type of setup? Not recommended for production?

Thanks!!

Best regards

Hi,

LXD is the recommended approach for using snapshots. You can also use the recommend snap package with Debian.

sudo apt install snapd -y
sudo snap install lxd

Thanks!
I will have a look at lxd and take it for a test drive!

Hi,
Installed snapd on Debian buster and tried to install lxd, got the following error message:

snap install lxd --channel=4.0/stable
error: cannot perform the following tasks:
- Mount snap "lxd" (19188) (snap "lxd" assumes unsupported features: snapd2.39 (try to update snapd and refresh the core snap))

Is there a way around this so I can keep snapd on stable supported version from Debian?

Thanks!!

Take a look at Can't install on Debian 10 its come up before.

Thanks!
Sorry, I missed to search for it !!
